Mohs Surgery
Mohs surgery is the gold standard used to treat non-melanoma skin cancer. During the procedure, thin layers of cancer-containing skin are progressively removed and examined until only cancer-free tissue remains. This method is highly effective, especially for cancers in cosmetically sensitive areas such as the face, as it minimizes the removal of healthy tissue while ensuring complete cancer removal. Mohs surgery is most commonly used for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

Radiotherapy (IG-SRT-GentleCure)
Image-Guided Superficial Radiotherapy (IG-SRT), also known as GentleCure, is a non-invasive treatment option for skin cancer. It involves the use of low-dose X-rays that target and destroy cancerous cells on the skin's surface. The "image-guided" aspect allows for precise targeting of the affected area, minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. IG-SRT is particularly suitable for patients who are not candidates for surgery or who prefer a non-surgical option for treating basal and squamous cell carcinomas.

Electrodessication and Curettage | ED&C
ED&C is a commonly used treatment for certain non-melanoma skin cancers, particularly basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma in situ. The procedure involves scraping away cancerous tissue followed by using electrical current to destroy any remaining cancer cells.
ED&C is especially effective for superficial skin cancers on areas such as the trunk and extremities. It’s a minimally invasive option, often performed under local anesthesia, that offers high cure rates while avoiding the need for sutures.

Cryosurgery
Cryosurgery is a highly effective, non-invasive procedure used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including warts, seborrheic keratoses, and some types of pre-cancers. The procedure involves using liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy abnormal skin cells, which then naturally fall off as the skin heals.
Cryosurgery is a quick, in-office treatment that typically requires no anesthesia, making it an excellent option for patients seeking minimal downtime. It is especially effective for superficial skin conditions and offers a safe, convenient alternative to more invasive treatments.

Topical Chemotherapy
Topical chemotherapy involves applying a medication directly to the skin in the form of a cream or ointment. This treatment is used for certain types of superficial skin cancers and precancerous conditions, such as actinic keratosis.
The most common drug used in topical chemotherapy is 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), or Efudex with Calcipotriene compounded cream. These work by killing cancerous cells in the treated area while sparing healthy tissue.

Immunotherapy
Immunotherapy for skin cancer leverages the body’s immune system to fight cancer cells. This treatment involves the use of drugs that boost the immune response against cancerous cells.
For skin cancers, topical immunotherapy, such as the use of imiquimod cream, is often used for superficial basal cell carcinoma and some early squamous cell carcinomas. Systemic immunotherapy, such as checkpoint inhibitors, may be used for more advanced skin cancers.

Skin Surgery | Benign Lesions
For benign skin lesions such as cysts, lipomas, and moles, skin surgery provides an effective and straightforward treatment option. These growths are typically non-cancerous but may require removal if they cause discomfort, grow in size, or for cosmetic reasons.
Cysts: Small, fluid-filled sacs that can develop under the skin. Cysts are usually harmless but may become painful or infected.
Lipomas: Soft, fatty lumps that form beneath the skin. While benign, lipomas can grow and cause discomfort or limit movement if they become too large.
Moles: Most moles are harmless, but changes in size, shape, or color may require removal to rule out skin cancer.
These minor surgical procedures are performed in-office, under local anesthesia, and involve minimal downtime.

Photodynamic Therapy
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a cutting-edge, non-invasive treatment used to target and eliminate pre-cancerous cells. This therapy involves applying a photosensitizing agent to the skin, which is then activated by a specific wavelength of light. The activated agent destroys abnormal cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
PDT is highly effective for treating conditions such as actinic keratosis, often chosen for it's cosmetic benefits and minimal downtime.

Methotrexate Therapy
lntralesional Methotrexate is used for the treatment of squamous cell carcinomas and keratoacanthoma. This treatment is effective against quickly growing tumors because it works by slowing and interfering with the growth of cancerous cells. It is a great alternative to surgery as it is less invasive with lower risk of infection and minimal discomfort. Also, it often gives the best cosmetic result possible. In other cases, it may be used to shrink a tumor while waiting for surgery, reducing the extent of the surgery.
